Sometimes the shift knobs are all we have left.

That is a truly great idea for previous cars. Now I want to go buy each of my old shift knobs.

I need a new shift knob and see a 6 speed ball one there

I’ve been very tempted to keep shift knobs but I always felt they just belong with the car. I even purchased an aftermarket knob so I could keep beautiful wooden one from my Alfa 164 but it just felt wrong to take it from the car.

I barely used that one actually ... there’s a lip at the bottom so it won’t work with a normal lock nut, and the collar it came with makes it sit higher than other knobs. And the lip means it tips over easily on my desk so it doesn’t work well as a paperweight either.

P.S. I should’ve ordered this one: red lettering, no lip, made for an Euro market S2000:

Do you want the ball knob though? I have no real use for it, cover shipping costs and it’s yours.

My current knob has lost all its love from me, I feel like a ball would be better feeling. I’ll keep it in mind :)

Picked up one of these for...an automatic...the one in my TL is broken and wobbles and rattles dont judge. I literally only got it because its the only aluminum shifter I could find in a shape I liked that didnt have the 5 or 6 speed markings on the top. Imagine if I had that on my automatic gear shift.

Won’t judge as long as it fits. The thread size is different for autos, isn’t it? Honda MT thread pitch is 10x1.5, auto is 8x1.25 I think.

It is, and they dont make 10x1.5 to 8x1.25 adapters because they would be too skinny. Luckily I have the means to thread it to 12x1.25 and I have a 12x1.25 to 8x1.25 adapter. Seems like work but since I already have the stuff and the knob was $8 I dont mind. I love the gunmetal too.
